The Armed Guard courses are for qualification only, they are NOT designed to teach students how to shoot.

There will be no warm-up or practice shots prior to qualification. Students should train and practice prior to the class.

If you fail the qualifying shoot, you can shoot again, at the next scheduled range day, for $50.00.

New Armed Security Guard Class and Bi-yearly Renewal -Class Cost: $75.00 + $25.00 (range fee)

This course is designed to certify armed security guards to carry firearms upon successful completion. This is a 2-part course, the first part is completed ONLINE and the second part is completed IN PERSON, at a shooting range. This class will also satisfy the bi-yearly requirements for a renewal license.

Ammunition, range fees ($25) and weapons are NOT included in the cost of the course.

You will have access to the course for 30 days so you can stop and start the online portion as needed, just make sure to complete it prior to scheduling your qualification shoot. Upon completion of the online portion, you will need to schedule an “in person” range day. We will meet at Ben Avery Shooting Facility for your qualification shoot.

All students MUST bring $25 cash (for range fees), a standard duty type revolver or semi-automatic pistol, holster, at least 2 magazines or speed loaders, 100 rounds of ammunition and hearing & eye protection.

PLEASE NOTE: The online portion of this course is 8 - 9 hours. Completing this course requires passing a final written test and a qualifying shoot. There will be NO refunds issued if you fail to pass either one, or if you cannot pass the background check.

Unarmed Security Guard Class and Bi-yearly renewal -Class Cost: $35.00

This class is an 8 hour ONLINE course, designed to help students obtain the skills necessary to become professional security officers . When you complete the course you will have the basic knowledge to qualify for the Arizona Unarmed Guard card. This class will also satisfy the bi-yearly requirements for a renewal license.

You will have access to the course for 30 days so you can stop and start as needed.

Yearly Refresher for Armed Security Guard -Class Cost: $75.00 + $25.00 (range fee)

This class is designed to satisfy the yearly refresher requirement for armed security guards. This is a 2-part course, the first part is completed ONLINE and the second part is completed IN PERSON, at a shooting range.
